Project Management

At PSS we believe that communication is the key to any successful project. We strive to be proactive before, during and after the job to ensure compliance with all ASTM, IPEMA, ADA and OSHA standards. We also make sure that all reports to ensure compliance with labor laws and project agreements are done correctly and in a timely manner. We encourage communication from our customers and no issue is too small to talk about.

Stone Substrates

A proper stone substrate is crucial in a safety surfacing setting. PSS is proud to offer the ability to tackle any stone substrates to ensure everything is properly done the first time around. We use experienced installation crews that are all trained to tackle stone substrates of any magnitude. Maintenance

Unitary surfacing maintenance is something that we see a lot of people skip over when planning a playground and we believe it to be extremely important in extending the life of your surface. Our spray on maintenance coating is the first line of defense that will help extend your surface life to a decade plus. UV exposure can break down urethanes and pigments in the rubber over time causing granulation and loss of color. Our maintenance coating has UV inhibitors to help prevent long term fade and also is very strong to help prevent excess granulation, especially under high impact areas like swings and slides. We recommend applying every 2 to 5 years depending on foot traffic. The process takes a few hours for most surfaces and dries in minutes on a normal sunny day. The coating also dries to a matte finish which gives it slip resistant properties unlike most urethanes that are slippery initially.

Repairs

We have the ability to repair existing damage to any surface as long as the wear course or top coat is thick enough for the repair to adhere to. Should that not be the case we can go over the top of the existing surface with a new wear course which will improve the HIC rating of the existing surface and give it a new lease on life. We encourage drop testing before we do this to see if your surfacing is in compliance as many older surfaces need to be completely replaced due to failure. At PSS, we have the ability to drop test older projects so we can discuss which steps should be next whether it’s minor patches, complete replacement of the wear course, or full depth tear outs.
